Austen's educational journey began at NYU, where she earned a BS in Childhood and Special Education with a minor in Spanish in 2017. Her time in New York City was enriched by working with a wide array of students, thanks to diverse student teaching placements and tutoring initiatives. This experience allowed her to engage with learners of various abilities, cultural backgrounds, and ages, laying a strong foundation for her career in education.

Following her graduation, Austen transitioned to teaching in a fourth-grade special education inclusion classroom in Newton, MA. In this role, she honed her skills as both a classroom teacher and a Special Education (SpEd) interventionist. She worked closely with students facing a range of challenges, including ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, English language learning, and various other learning, developmental, and social-emotional needs.

Austen's combined personal and professional experiences have deeply rooted her passion for education and her love for spending time with children. Her primary interests lie in writing, foreign languages, and special education, equipping her to offer tutoring across a broad spectrum of subjects. She excels in connecting with children on their level, identifying their strengths, and leveraging this understanding to help them succeed and build confidence.

Outside of her professional life, Austen embraces her roles as a nanny and mother, finding joy in spending quality time outdoors on the river with her fishing guide husband, or enjoying cozy moments indoors with their two dogs and new baby.
