Lina, originally from Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, was nurtured in a bilingual environment. In college, she pursued Modern Languages with a focus on Italian, further expanding her linguistic skills during a seven-month exchange in Urbino, Italy, where she immersed herself in the local language and culture.

Lina's academic journey continued as she earned an MFA in Film from Columbia University's School of Arts in NYC, blending her passion for languages with the visual arts. As a trilingual photographer, she captures the essence of diverse cultures through her lens.

For the past few years, Lina has dedicated herself to teaching English as a Second Language to high school students and adults at the Teton Literacy Center, utilizing a Total Physical Response-based approach to foster genuine language acquisition. She is committed to empowering individuals to become knowledgeable leaders within their communities and beyond.

As a tutor, Lina aims to enhance her students' Spanish language proficiency by incorporating life skills, authentic language experiences, and a rich blend of arts and cultural elements into her teaching, making learning a dynamic and immersive experience.
